Emission Control System: CCV
Manufacturer: Racor
The Closed Crankcase Ventilation System, manufactured by Racor (a division of Parker), eliminates 100% of crankcase emissions, elevating the level of exhaust emission reductions. Unlike exhaust emissions, crankcase gases normally escape into the environment through the crankcase vent tube.
The Racor CCV improves passenger compartment air quality (especially important for school buses, shuttle buses, urban buses, refuse, and municipal fleets), improves air quality for personnel working in the vicinity of an operating piece of equipment, and reduces fouling in the engine compartment and of charge air coolers, radiators, etc.
When paired with an emission control system such as a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), the CCV can create a cleaner engine environment, improved vehicle/equipment reliability with less of a need for maintenance, cleaner components and engine compartment, and a reduced use of oil, thereby lowering vehicle operation costs.
