Operating LSI material handling equipment such as forklifts and tow tractors creates harmful emissions which are hazardous to employees and the environment. Without the proper retrofitting solutions, these emissions can cause serious health problems for anyone working around your equipment.

By retrofitting your material handling equipment, you can not only reduce harmful emissions, but reduce the fuel consumption of your equipment by as much as 20%, thereby saving your company money annually.

Ward Clean Air Products Limited offers a number of emissions control systems which can be easily be installed in your equipment and are verified by the Air Resources Board.
TermiNOx

Ward Clean Air Products System that Pays for Itself!
TermiNOx™ converts any open-loop LPG or CNG fueled off-road engine into a state of the art, digitally programmable, closed-loop, 3-way controlled engine that simultaneously reduces CO, HC, and NOx emissions by an impressive and verified 85-90+%*. In addition, the fuel efficiency of the vehicle typically improves by as much as 20% - combine these savings and reduced building ventilation costs and the TermiNOx™ system can provide you a full return on investment in as little as one year.

TermiNOx upgrades uncontrolled spark ignited engines used in industrial applications with state-of-the-art, electronic closed-loop fuel control and 3-way catalytic emissions control to reduce:

  • Smog-causing (HC+NOx) emissions by >90%
  • Toxic Carbon Monoxide (CO) emissions by >85%
  • Fuel Consumption by 10-20%
*Verified as the only LSI technology (large displacement engine spark ignited) by the Air Resources Board

2-Way Purimufflers™

An WCAP 2-Way Purimuffler integrates a catalytic converter, muffler and venturi to effectively reduce carbon monoxide (CO), and odor causing hydrocarbon (HC) from LPG, CNG or gasoline powered industrial equipment. Smaller industrial engines <25hp or built prior to 2004 may be operating without a closed loop 3-way control system such as TermiNOx.

In the engines, the air fuel ratio will vary from lean to rich depending upon the duty cycle of the engine. By incorporating a venture into the 2-Way Purimuffler, added air is continuously introduced into the exhaust to insure complete CO and HC oxidation while maintaining exhaust temperatures within safe limits.

2-Way Purimufflers feature direct fit for quick and easy installation as well as an electronic monitor to warn of potential engine problems which can lead to high emissions.

What Is Diesel Exhaust?

smoke_100Diesel exhaust contains a mixture of thousands of different chemical substances. Many of the components of diesel exhaust, such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxides, hydrocarbon gases and diesel particulate matter (soot), arsenic and benzene, can cause health problems. Diesel exhaust contains 20-100 times more harmful particles than gasoline exhaust.

Health Effects of Diesel Exhaust

Due to expanding use of diesel equipment, more and more workers are exposed to diesel exhaust. More than one million workers are exposed to diesel exhaust and face the risk of adverse health effects, ranging from headaches and nausea to cancer and respiratory disease. Such workers include mine workers, bridge and tunnel workers, railroad workers, loading dock workers, truck drivers, material handling machine operators, farm workers, longshoring employees, and auto, truck and bus maintenance garage workers.
