2-Way Purimufflers™
An WCAP 2-Way Purimuffler integrates a catalytic converter, muffler and venturi to effectively reduce carbon monoxide (CO), and odor causing hydrocarbon (HC) from LPG, CNG or gasoline powered industrial equipment. Smaller industrial engines <25hp or built prior to 2004 may be operating without a closed loop 3-way control system such as TermiNOx.
In the engines, the air fuel ratio will vary from lean to rich depending upon the duty cycle of the engine. By incorporating a venture into the 2-Way Purimuffler, added air is continuously introduced into the exhaust to insure complete CO and HC oxidation while maintaining exhaust temperatures within safe limits.
2-Way Purimufflers feature direct fit for quick and easy installation as well as an electronic monitor to warn of potential engine problems which can lead to high emissions. |

What Is Diesel Exhaust?
 Diesel exhaust contains a mixture of thousands of different chemical substances. Many of the components of diesel exhaust, such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxides, hydrocarbon gases and diesel particulate matter (soot), arsenic and benzene, can cause health problems. Diesel exhaust contains 20-100 times more harmful particles than gasoline exhaust.

Health Effects of Diesel Exhaust
Due to expanding use of diesel equipment, more and more workers are exposed to diesel exhaust. More than one million workers are exposed to diesel exhaust and face the risk of adverse health effects, ranging from headaches and nausea to cancer and respiratory disease. Such workers include mine workers, bridge and tunnel workers, railroad workers, loading dock workers, truck drivers, material handling machine operators, farm workers, longshoring employees, and auto, truck and bus maintenance garage workers.
